Easy-to-Use Smart Pillbox
The Prompter™ Connected Pillbox prompts your Loved One to take their pills by lighting up (small LED lights on the device) and also sending a reminder via SMS, Push Notification, or Email when it is time to take their medication.
The Prompter™ has built in motion sensors that can detect when it is picked up and if a pill door is opened. This means if the Prompter™ detects no motion and no pill door open, it records that as a possible missed dose* and alerts the caregiver so they can follow up with the Loved One.

Does the Prompter Pillbox know if medication was taken?
The Prompter™ Connected Pillbox was not designed to know if a medication was taken. While Prompter™ can sense if the device is picked up and moved, and then if a pill door is opened, it’s extremely difficult to know if pills were actually removed. And near impossible to know if your Loved One actually ingested the pills. What the Prompter™ can do, however, is detect (Prompter™ not moved and a pill door not opened is a pretty good indicator of a likely missed dose or likely missed doses) and alert you (the Caregiver) so you can follow up directly with your Loved One.
What is a Smart Pillbox?
By design, all pillboxes hold medications/pills. And they pretty much all indicate the day and time of day to take the medication. A “smart pillbox”, however, does more than store the pills. As we look at it, a “smart pillbox” shouldn’t just sit there passively, but rather use technology to remind the user when to take their pills and, in the case of Prompter™, reach out and alert a Caregiver if a dose is likely missed. The Prompter™ Connected Pillbox is a “smart pillbox” designed to remind your Loved One and to keep you, the Caregiver, informed about potential missed doses.
Typical on-the-go devices include pendents that can be worn around the neck or on a belt, watches or other items that include an emergency help button that communicates with a monitoring center when pressed. Some on-the-go devices include fall detection that automatically alerts the monitoring center should a potential fall be detected.
Does the Prompter know what pill tray is opened?
The Prompter™ only knows that one of its pill tray doors was opened. It does not sense which pill tray door was opened.
Why is it called the Prompter?
We designed the Prompter™ Connected Pillbox to be:
1. A reminder system for the Loved One (prompting them when it’s time to take medications) and;
2. A way for Family Caregivers to be “prompted” to potential missed doses. Given all the reminding and “prompting”, we decided to put it into the name.
